Testimonials

"I highly recommend Hara Construction as the best choice in the construction industry. As an interior designer, I have worked with many contractors, but I only refer Hara Construction because of their ability to provide consistent first-rate service to my clients.

Todd Hara and his talented team of people do their jobs quickly, skillfully and without inconvenience to the homeowner. They take the time to explain details and answer questions until my clients are comfortable and have the knowledge they need to make educated decisions. Every team member is a pleasure to be around and easy to work with. I would recommend Hara Construction without hesitation".

General contractor for update of kitchen and three baths. The Hara crew did most of the work with the exception of installation of countertops and most of the painting. Kitchen: installed gas range and microwave hood, undercounter lighting, cabinet trim, sink and fixtures, cabinet pulls. Downstairs bath: tiled floor, baseboard, shower surround and border around mirror; installed pedestal sink and fixtures; installed shower fixtures and replaced towel bar / tp holder / shower rod. Upstairs hall bath: tiled floor, baseboard and shower surround; installed vanity, fixtures and cabinet pulls; removed medicine cabinet and repaired wall; replaced mirror and light fixture; moved tub from master and installed tub / shower fixtures; and replaced towel bar / tp holder / shower rod. Master bath: replaced tub with walk-in shower; installed radiant heat in floor; tiled floor, shower surround, and border around mirror; installed ceiling fan and replaced ceiling light with six can lights; replaced strip light above mirror; installed sink and shower fixtures; replaced wood baseboard; replaced towel bars, tp holder and installed cabinet door pulls. Since the crew was there and Todd was so accomodating, I also had them do some miscellaneous work around the house like installing a dryer vent, fixing some closet doors, replacing switches and outlets, and taking debris from previous projects to the dump.

It has been a great experience, and the house is gorgeous. Todd's company was recommended by an interior designer (Shauna Dean of Seattle Home Enhancement), and I liked and trusted Todd from the moment we met. He and Shauna came to the house and did a walk-thru to discuss all the work that needed to be done. Todd sent me a bid within a few days, and I accepted it while we started ordering materials and working out the details in the bid. (The bid was mostly for labor - the things you see like appliances, fixtures, lights, cabinet pulls, tile, etc were mostly all provided by the designer and cost about another $30K. Hara's bid included the glass shower door, can lights, ceiling fan, and everything needed for installation like plumbing pipe, green board, screws, etc.) Once everything that was ordered arrived (took about two months, because we had a custom vanity constructed), the work started. Todd was terrific about making sure we could still live in the house while the work was going on - we always had one bathroom that was fully functional. He did the downstairs bath first, which was small and only took about a week, then went to work on the two upstairs baths, which was quite a bit more involved. The kitchen was last. Todd's crew had a break for a couple of weeks while the counters were being fabricated and installed and the painting done. Then the last of the work seemed to take forever to get done. There was an issue with one of the sinks being a different size, which required the countertop fabricator to fix, a fixture got lost in the garage for a week or so and had to be reordered before it was found, and the pressure in one of the tubs was so high that water would pour out of the shower head when just the tap was supposed to be running. Todd followed up diligently on these issues and kept in contact nearly every day throughout the entire job. About once a week he would come over on the weekend to walk through the house and discuss the progress. He was great about providing suggestions for other things I would like (he was the one who actually suggested replacing the tub with a shower enclosure, which is absolutely the single most beautiful thing in the entire house), but there was no pressure to add features I didn't want. He was so accomodating, I asked him to have his crew do some "handy-man" tasks around the house. And with all of the changes, his bid scarcely changed at all. Even when one task would take multiple trips to the house because of various issues, he never considered that a change that would require increasing the cost. All of his crew was terrific, too. Very professional and cleaned up the work spaces daily.
